Rebecca (Massachussetts) and Jason (Georgia) met in 1996 while studying abroad in Lausanne, Switzerland. They fell in love over the course of a few years, and married at the ripe old age of 22. 24yrs have passed, and in addition to still loving each other, they are best friends. Add to the mix, a 14yr old daughter Logan, 11yr old son Elijah, 7yr old daughter Sylas, a rescued dog “Bear”, tortoise “Zeus”, & betta fish “Freddie Velvet” and you've got the Walker Family, now living in Los Angeles, CA.
After earning a BFA in Photography from Savannah College of Art & Design, Rebecca & Jason moved to Brooklyn, NY. Rebecca worked at Magnum Photo Agency, where her collaboration with world renowned documentary photographers, and access to historical archives, shaped her aesthetic sensibility. Rebecca was also on staff at PDN Magazine for several years. Jason spent over 7yrs developing his craft as camera & lighting assistant to prolific photographers such as Annie Liebovitz, Nadav Kandar, Marco Grob, Paola Kudacki, Etc.; with subjects ranging from Gisele Bündchen to Barack Obama. The experience of working as an understudy to such a diverse set of photographers, shooting for iconic fashion houses, magazines, and brands, proved foundational to how Jason now works as a photographer.
For nearly a decade, Rebecca & Jason were represented in NYC by Ira Lippke Studios. Walker Studios owes a debt of gratitude for the opportunity to work at the highest levels of the wedding industry, but more importantly, Rebecca & Jason are thankful for the enduring friendship with Ira and his family.
With over 20yrs of experience, Rebecca & Jason have developed an intuitive sensibility regarding all parts of the wedding day. Capturing big bold moments and subtle nuances, all of which fade in the memory, only to be reborn through the art of photography. Rebecca & Jason flow seamlessly between documentary, beauty, fashion, portraiture, landscape, and detail photography. Asserting themselves as needed, otherwise blending in, often unnoticed.
